The Stokes County Soil & Water Conservation office is located in historic Danbury, North Carolina in the Old Courthouse Building at 100 Courthouse Circle.  Business hours are from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

The District is a subdivision of the state government charged with planning, executing and promoting sound conservation practices.

The District administers and supports local, state and federal programs which improve water quality and reduce non-point source pollution on agricultural lands.

We are governed by a five member supervisory board which consist of two members appointed by the State Soil & Water Conservation Commission and three members which are elected by citizens of Stokes County, to a four-year staggered term on a non-partisan basis.  All board meetings are open to the general public.  The Board of Supervisors meet the third Wednesday of every month at 9:00 am in the Old Courthouse in Danbury at the Soil & Water office.
